Pocket spring mattresses are still the best supporting spring systems but they are not all the same. There are many different pocket spring set ups and counts, wire gauge and sizes. High pocket spring counts are not necessarily better for your alignment and more zones in the pocket springs can work against your body by giving negative pressure against your shoulders and hips. It’s not rocket science, if you sleep in the same position all night and don’t move around multi zones are fine. If you move around and are not perfectly aligned on the zones you will sleep between the pocket spring zones. We have so many customers telling us they had previously bought 5, 7 or 9 zone pocket spring mattress and they consistently wake up with pins and needles, shoulder and hip pain. In this case “less is more” and a three zone is a better solution.
